The Soers treatment plant is one of the largest sewage installations in the Eifel-Rur water authority. The connected load is 450,000 comparable values. The aim was to completely modernise the aeration tank and significantly reduce the energy consumption. This section was the highest consumer of energy in the entire plant.
The first step involved initiating a test series together with Zahnen Technik with the aim of testing new fan solutions. An energy saving of 50% could be attained during the entire test period.
The 10 existing turbo compressors with a total output of 3500 KW are now replaced by 17 fans with 75 KW output. Zahnen Technik had the electrical engineering lead here along with an order for the mechanical equipment.
